My Little World
Today the national broadcaster announced that the venue for the Euroclub will be CEK Parkovy. http://escunited.com/2017/03/15/ukraine-euroclub-venue-announced/
This location is a purpose-built conference centre on the cliffs of old Kyiv overlooking the Dnipro river.
This venue will host the media, media events, parties, live shows and some fan clubs.
CEK Parkovy http://www.parkovy.info is about a kilometre away from the Arsenalna metro station (the world's deepest station) and the Khreschatik metro station. Although the roof has two helicopter landing pads. It is on a relatively secluded road, surrounded by ancient forest. It is therefore a tad difficult to access on foot. A taxi is recommended.
The parkland in which CEK Parkovy is placed is also the site of Askold's grave. This is a site of legend.
Askold was the grandson of the King of Sweden in the 9th century and was sent on a mission to Constantinople, but saw the hills of Kyiv and settled there as ruler. The Ukrainian sagas say he converted to Christianity and was murdered by a pagan sorcerer and buried on Uhorska Hill - close to the CEK Parkovy. This makes him the first Christian martyr in Ukraine. An 18th century round church is said to mark the spot. On a Sunday it is a very popular spot for the faithful, and has a crowd of believers outside.
