KYIV DESTINATION: Shota Rustaveli Park, Georgian restaurants

Shota Rustaveli square on Shota Rustaveli St is a little piece of Georgia in central Kyiv. Shota is considered to be the 12th century version of Shakespeare in Georgia. The poet's most famous work is The Knight in the Panther Skin.
There is also a statue to Shota Rustaveli in this square of fantasy modernist sculptures and stone benches.
The park was opened in 2007 by the then President of Georgia, who is now both wanted by the authorities in his homeland and also a Governor of a region of southern Ukraine.

Believe'n'Peace (1999)  Maltese Connections  EUROVISION COUNTRY: Malta KYIV DESTINATIONS: Maltese Restaurant Porto; Dog friendly cafes in Kyiv Unlike many other European cities, Kyiv can boast of it's own Maltese restaurant, called Porto  http://porto-rest.com/en/ , which provides excellent (if expensive - at €20 a person) fish and southern Mediterranean dishes. Porto is located very close to Olympiska metro station, a corner kick away from the main football stadium. All is not what it seems, however, as the chef/owner is Serbian!
