Kyiv metro made simple 


You will have little time to orient yourself in a few days in Kyiv.
Therefore the top two tips are:
1. Use the orange machines to get tokens for the metro. They take 20 Hryvna notes only (75 Euro cents), and instantly give you five tokens.
2. As you head towards the turnstiles grab an dual language map of the tube system.
The three metro lines are numbered 1, 2 and 3.
The maps, the station signs and the interconnecting signs are all in Ukrainian and English.
Each station also has a number.
So for example all stations on line 2 begin with the number 2.
Simples.
P.S. Mobile phones work both on platforms and train carriages in the metro.

Addicted to You (2002)  Ukrainian Pie   KYIV DESTINATION: Pie shops If you stand by St Sophia's cathedral in the upper city, you will notice a pink tower in a nearby street.  This is the 19th century fire station watch tower. Examples include Cowberry pie, Rabbit and Mushrooms Pie, Herring Pie, Cherry Pie and Brocilli Pie, among others. Each pie is enormous and can feed a large family.
